IndiaAI Announces 2.5 Crore AI Challenge for Fair Exams

IndiaAI, an Independent Business Division under the Digital India Corporation of the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), has officially launched the IndiaAI Face Authentication Challenge. This pivotal initiative invites the nation's brightest minds in technology, including startups and established companies, to develop a groundbreaking AI solution aimed at ensuring fairness and integrity in public examinations.

Strengthening Exam Integrity with AI

The primary goal of this challenge is to create a highly accurate, secure, and scalable AI-powered solution for image verification and application de-duplication. By leveraging advanced artificial intelligence, the initiative seeks to fortify the credibility of large-scale public examinations. The ultimate objective is to guarantee a just, fair, and impartial merit-based selection process for all candidates, while also creating a solution with potential applications across various government departments and state organizations.

The Challenge: Building a Robust Authentication System

Participants are tasked with developing a sophisticated application that can perform robust photo verification and de-duplication. This involves using one-to-many matching techniques against large, historical applicant databases. The challenge requires an end-to-end AI solution that goes beyond traditional logic-based methods. It must utilize advanced facial verification algorithms to automatically detect and flag duplicate applications, ensuring that a single, unique ID is issued to every authorized applicant and safeguarding the integrity of the institution.

A Lucrative Opportunity for Innovators

The IndiaAI Face Authentication Challenge offers significant incentives to encourage widespread participation and high-quality submissions. The prize structure is designed to support innovators at every stage of development:

• Initial Funding: Up to 10 shortlisted teams will each receive INR 5 Lakhs to help refine and test their proposed solutions on a sample dataset.
• Grand Prize & Deployment Contract: Up to two top teams may be awarded a two-year contract along with up to INR 1 Crore for the final deployment and implementation of their solution.
