Method acting is known for pushing boundaries, with actors going to extreme lengths to embody their characters. However, a recent rumor surrounding Jared Leto's preparation for the upcoming film Tron: Ares went beyond typical method acting and into the realm of the absurd, leaving many online completely stunned.

The Outlandish Rumor That Took Over the Internet

A post on the social media platform X, styled to look like a legitimate entertainment news update, made the wild claim that Jared Leto "had sex with ChatGPT to prepare for his role as an AI in 'TRON: ARES'." Unsurprisingly, this bizarre piece of 'news' spread like wildfire, amassing over 2 million views and 56,000 likes in just one day.

The claim circulated rapidly across the internet, sparking a wave of disbelief and confusion. Users reacted with astonishment, with one person questioning, "Does he not have a PR person?" Another commented, "Can we just not with him anymore. It's not like he's some generational talent." The sheer strangeness of the assertion made many people pause and question its validity.

Unmasking the Source A Parody Account's Prank

For anyone who looked past the initial shock, the truth was quickly revealed. The claim is entirely false. The original post was not from a credible news source but from a parody account on X called 'DiscussingFish'. This account masterfully mimics the name, profile picture, and post formatting of the popular film news aggregator 'DiscussingFilm', a tactic designed to deliberately mislead casual scrollers.

This is a common trend on social media, where accounts like NBACentel and Poo Crave have built followings by tricking people with fabricated, yet plausible-sounding, news. 'DiscussingFish' is simply the latest in a long line of successful online pranksters.

Separating Fact from Fiction

The most definitive proof of the fabrication lies in the source the post cited. A quick check of the linked Variety article about the Tron: Ares trailer reveals no mention of ChatGPT whatsoever. The only kernel of truth in the viral post was that Leto is, in fact, playing the manifestation of an AI program in the upcoming movie.

The parody account made no secret of its intentions, even replying to a user who took the bait with an image that read, 'You Got Discussing Fish'd'. This entire episode, as reported by fact-checkers at the India Times, serves as a potent reminder to always verify sources before believing—and sharing—outlandish claims found online.
