Vivo Unveils AI Powered OriginOS 6 and BlueOS 3
Vivo has officially unveiled its next-generation operating systems in China, introducing OriginOS 6 for smartphones and BlueOS 3 for its smartwatch lineup. Based on Android 16, the new software will make its debut on the upcoming Vivo X300 Pro, Vivo X300, and iQOO 15 devices. The update is packed with a completely redesigned interface and a suite of powerful AI-driven tools, promising a smarter and smoother user experience.
A Fresh Design Inspired by Apple’s Liquid Glass
The new OriginOS 6 introduces a significant visual overhaul to the home page, lock screen, and system apps. Drawing inspiration from Apple’s Liquid Glass design aesthetic, the interface now features circular app icons and widgets with curved edges for a modern look. A new dynamic clock widget cleverly resizes itself to accommodate incoming notifications.
A key addition is the "Atomic Island," which functions similarly to Apple's Dynamic Island. This feature provides quick access to ongoing activities like music playback or a running stopwatch. The user experience is further enhanced with new progressive blur effects, neatly stacked notifications, and a redesigned control center with customizable toggles.
Blue River Smooth Engine for Lag-Free Performance
Under the hood, OriginOS 6 is powered by Vivo's new Blue River Smooth Engine. This advanced system leverages super-core computing, a dual-rendering architecture, and photonic storage to optimize performance. According to Vivo, this engine dramatically reduces lag by delivering smoother animations, enhanced touch responsiveness, and more stable frame rates, especially when multitasking or switching between apps.
Advanced AI Tools for Everyday Use
Artificial intelligence is at the core of the OriginOS 6 experience. The update equips Vivo and iQOO devices with a host of new AI capabilities, including a new phone assistant, AI-powered summary generation for texts and articles, and an upgraded Circle to Search 2.0 feature for instant on-screen object recognition.
The standout feature is Live Photo AI Removal, which allows users to seamlessly erase unwanted objects or people not just from static pictures, but from dynamic Live Photos as well. An accompanying AI image editor can also be used to enhance photo resolution and convert images directly into PDF documents.
BlueOS 3 for Smartwatches Brings Extended Battery Life
Alongside the phone OS, Vivo launched BlueOS 3 for its smartwatches. The new wearable OS, which will enter public beta on November 3 for the Vivo Watch 5 and iQOO Watch 5, focuses heavily on efficiency and user experience. Vivo claims that under BlueOS 3, the Vivo Watch GT 2 can achieve an impressive battery life of up to 33 days. Other improvements include new always-on display watch faces, smoother animations, personalized app suggestions, and Blue Heart V calling support.
