Tesla Cybercab at an In-N-Out drive-through

Tesla’s AI team recently shared a fun photo of the upcoming Cybercab making a stop at an In-and-Out drive-through. While the lighthearted image of the vehicle's passengers in costume was a nod to Halloween, keen-eyed observers noted that the vehicle itself appears surprisingly close to being ready for the assembly line.

A Fun Post with Serious Implications

In what appeared to be a playful Halloween post, the Tesla AI team shared an image on X of the Cybercab, accompanied by a Tesla Model Y. The team captioned the photo with "Animal Style," a reference to a popular secret menu item at the fast-food chain. This continues a fun tradition for Tesla, as Elon Musk has previously joked that taking prototype vehicles through an In-and-Out is a milestone for the company. The popularity of In-and-Out among Tesla owners is also well-known, partly due to the convenient placement of Supercharger stations near many of its locations.

Production-Ready Details Emerge

Beyond the humorous context, the photos offered a revealing glimpse into the Cybercab's development. Industry watchers quickly pointed out that several components on the vehicle look highly refined and well-built, suggesting they could be production-ready. The front end of the Cybercab, in particular, looked polished and even featured a proper license plate mount. This follows previous sightings which revealed that the vehicle's doors have already been updated since its initial unveiling last year.

These details are fueling speculation that the Cybercab might be on the verge of initial production. This aligns with reports of production equipment being installed at Giga Texas for several months and an increase in Cybercab testing, both within the factory complex and on public roads. While the Halloween post was for fun, it may have unintentionally signaled that Tesla's robotaxi future is closer than ever.
