Crowe Boosts Innovation With Firmwide ChatGPT Access

Crowe LLP, a major player ranked among the top 15 accounting firms, has announced a significant strategic move: the firmwide deployment of OpenAI's ChatGPT Enterprise platform and its associated application programming interfaces (APIs). This rollout extends access to every professional within the organization.

The firm highlighted this decision, announced May 12th, as positioning Crowe among a select few in the accounting field to implement AI access comprehensively across its entire workforce. In a statement, the Chicago-based firm emphasized its commitment to transforming work processes and enhancing the value delivered to clients through this initiative.

This investment aims to empower Crowe's teams across audit, tax, and consulting. By providing access to advanced AI tools like ChatGPT Enterprise, the firm intends for its professionals to more effectively tackle complex business challenges, improve collaboration, and develop innovative client solutions with greater speed and intelligence. This adoption is noted as a key milestone in Crowe’s broader innovation strategy.

Building on Previous AI Investments

This firmwide deployment follows earlier steps Crowe has taken to build its AI capabilities. Last October, the firm announced it was expanding its Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (CoE). This CoE includes specialized teams for AI research (AI lab), development (AI engineering), and implementation support (AI enablement).

Led by Firmwide AI Managing Principal Doug Schrock, Crowe planned to triple the size of its AI lab and engineering teams. The goal was to facilitate co-development of AI solutions with clients, ensuring the CoE's work spans across all the firm's service areas.

Furthermore, earlier this year, Crowe had already signaled an expansion of its use of OpenAI's tools. The firm began integrating ChatGPT Enterprise and its APIs to boost internal innovation while also creating custom AI solutions for its clients. The current full-scale deployment marks the next phase of this ongoing strategy.
