Honor Introduces AI Focused 400 Series Smartphones
Honor has officially unveiled its latest smartphone lineup, the 400 5G and 400 Pro 5G, with a significant emphasis on artificial intelligence, particularly in photography and content editing. During the launch event, Nicky Nahar, Honor Europe's product manager, and Bond Zhang, CEO of Honor UK and Ireland, highlighted that these new devices underscore Honor's dedication to "making intelligent smartphones more accessible."
Spotlight on the Honor 400 Pro 5G Advanced AI Capabilities
The flagship Honor 400 Pro 5G takes the lead with impressive imaging technology. It boasts a 200MP AI super zoom camera and an innovative "AI image to video" feature. This industry-first capability, developed in collaboration with Google Cloud, allows users to transform static images into short, high-definition videos, perfect for enhancing social media content.
Matt Waldbusser, Google Cloud’s MD for global solutions and consumer AI, praised the new AI-powered imaging tool. He stated that it "brings an improved understanding of real-world physics, the nuances of human movement and expression, which helps improve its detail and realism overall."
Beyond video conversion, the 400 Pro 5G is packed with AI-driven photo editing tools. These include Honor’s own AI eraser, a reflection removal tool, and an "outpainting" feature that intelligently extends a photo beyond its original borders by adding realistic new content. For versatile shooting, the device also features a 50MP portrait selfie camera and a 12MP ultra-wide lens.
Under the hood, the 400 Pro 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It runs on MagicOS 9.0, which integrates Google services like the Gemini AI chatbot and the Circle to Search function.
The Versatile Honor 400 5G and Compact 400 Lite
The more budget-friendly Honor 400 5G model doesn't skimp on key features. It also includes a 200MP main camera, runs MagicOS 9.0, and offers similar AI functionalities to its Pro counterpart.
Honor also introduced the 400 Lite, a slimmer and more portable version designed for travel. This model features an AI-powered camera button and gesture controls for added convenience.
UK Pricing and Additional Product Reveals
Both the Honor 400 Pro 5G and 400 5G are now available in the UK. The Honor 400 Pro 5G is priced starting at £699.99, while the Honor 400 5G starts from £399.99.
In addition to the new smartphones, Honor also showcased its Pad 10 tablet and the MagicBook Pro 14 laptop at the event.
Honors Growing Market Presence and Future Commitments
During the presentation, Honor's new CEO James Li emphasized the company's strong commercial momentum. He highlighted a 70 percent year-on-year growth in the UK, positioning Honor as the fastest-growing smartphone brand in the region based on Q1 performance.
This launch follows Honor's recent announcement of a six-year commitment to Android OS and security updates for the 400 Series, ensuring support through to 2030. The company also confirmed that these devices will receive the Android 16 update later this year and will continue to integrate new Google Cloud AI capabilities, including the innovative image-to-video generation feature.
