AI Generated Image Sparks Controversy in Telangana
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders from Telangana’s Karimnagar initiated a protest and subsequently filed a police complaint. The complaint targets an individual accused of sharing what the party deems an ‘anti-national’ post on social media. This post featured an AI-generated image depicting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in handcuffs.
Details of the Contentious Social Media Post
The BJP leaders allege that the individual, identified as MD Mujahid, shared this AI-generated image on Facebook. The image reportedly showed Prime Minister Modi in handcuffs, situated outside either the Central Jail or the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Party members further claimed that Mujahid has a history of sharing anti-national content on his social media profile.
BJP Demands Strict Action
In response to the image, the BJP leaders have made strong demands. They insist that legal sections typically applied to anti-nationals, and the treatment reserved for terrorists in India, should be invoked against the individual responsible for sharing the image.
Accused Identified and Police Standoff
Reports indicate that the man in question, MD Mujahid, is an RTC (Road Transport Corporation) driver from Jagtial district. Following the complaint, BJP leaders refused to leave the Ramadugu police station until a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against Mujahid. As of the latest updates, the police have not released an official statement regarding the complaint or any actions taken.
