Uncle Joey's Modern Pranks in the Group Chat

Dave Coulier, known for his role as Uncle Joey on Full House, is apparently keeping his character's playful spirit alive within the cast's group chat.

The "Horrifying" AI Goth Cast Photo

Jodie Sweetin recently shared that Coulier enlivened their group text with an AI-generated photo depicting the cast as "goths." Sweetin told PEOPLE that her initial reaction to the image was that it was "horrifying."

She elaborated on the peculiar details: "Like, aged-down goths. And for some reason, there was a Kourtney Kardashian lookalike in there who was supposed to be Becky," referring to the character played by Lori Loughlin. "But me and the Olsen twins were the same age, except for Mary-Kate, who actually looked like she does today."

The AI didn't stop there. Sweetin explained that the late Bob Saget, who portrayed the beloved patriarch Danny Tanner, was also featured in the image, bizarrely depicted as Geddy Lee, the lead singer of the band Rush.

"It was just a very, very strange thing. Dave made a joke. I didn't get it," Sweetin admitted, though she later understood the humor. "I was like, 'Oh, sorry actually, the joke was great.'"

Cast Reunions and Continued Bonds

The revelation about the active Full House cast group chat surfaced just before several members reunited for iHeartRadio's How Rude, Tanneritos! Wedding Special live event.

Sweetin and her podcast cohost, fellow castmate Andrea Barber, hosted the Sunday event. It featured former costars Lori Loughlin, John Stamos, Scott Weinger, and Marla Sokoloff, who gathered to reflect on their time on the iconic show. This event marked one of the notable occasions the cast has come together since the passing of Bob Saget in 2022 due to head trauma.

Notably absent from this particular reunion were Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure (who played D.J. Tanner), and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (who shared the role of Michelle Tanner).

Dave Coulier Shares Personal Triumphs

While Dave Coulier couldn't attend the live event, he has previously been a guest on the How Rude, Tanneritos! podcast. During an April appearance, he shared significant personal news with Sweetin and Barber. He revealed that on the very same day, he learned he had successfully beaten stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma and that his son, Luc, and daughter-in-law, Alex, had welcomed their first child.

"I got the good news the day the baby was born," Coulier recounted to his former castmates. "So I heard the news and I was so excited, and then Luc called us and he said, 'Hey, the baby just was born.' And so, I mean, it was an amazing day."

Coulier added that Luc and Alex welcomed a "healthy, great little baby" named Chance Lee, weighing 7 pounds, 6 ounces. "He's 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and we will see him, I think, in 12 days," he said at the time. "Because we're in Michigan and they’re out in Sacramento."

Coulier's Comedy: Hits and Misses in Text

Proving his comedic timing is ever-present, Coulier also shared a story about a joke he made in the family group chat following the announcement of baby Chance's birth—a joke that initially seemed to miss the mark.

"I said to my son — everybody was teary-eyed and everything and [was] texting when the baby was born — and I said, 'I cannot wait to see that kid's expression on his face after he pulls my finger for the first time,'" Coulier recalled. "And there was just like, no one responded. It's like, 'Okay. I killed the moment.'"

Thankfully, the classic Uncle Joey humor wasn't lost for long. He explained that Luc messaged him back a few minutes later, simply stating, "I just got that."
