Hamill Slams Trumps Star Wars AI Gaffe
Mark Hamill has been vocal about his opinions on President Donald Trump, particularly concerning Trump's use of an AI-generated Star Wars image on May the 4th.

Hamill's Initial Reaction to Trump's Star Wars Post
After the image appeared on an official White House account in May, Hamill quickly struck out at it, viewing it as proof that the President wasn’t a genuine Star Wars fan. This was the latest in a series of comments Hamill has made regarding the President. He has also mentioned that fans sometimes have surprising reactions when meeting him in person.
The Controversial AI Image and Trump's Message
The most recent critique emerged when President Trump used an AI-generated Star Wars image and reference on the annual “Star Wars Day” to politically attack his opponents.
The picture showed a heavily-muscled depiction of Trump in Star Wars attire, holding a red lightsaber, positioned in front of an American flag and bald eagle imagery. The accompanying message stated: “Happy May the 4th to all, including the Radical Left Wing Lunatics who are fighting so hard to bring Sith Lords, Murderers, Drug Lords, Dangerous Prisoners, & well known MS-13 Gang Members, back into our Galaxy. You’re not the Rebellion–you’re the Empire. May the 4th be with you.”
In response, Hamill posted online, “Proof this guy is full of SITH.”

Hamill Discusses the Image on The View
Hamill later addressed the incident while appearing on The View. He spoke with the show’s panelists—Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin—about the post.
The Lightsaber Gaffe A True Fan Would Know
During the discussion, Hamill offered a specific critique of the image, noting that Trump was depicted holding a red lightsaber. He pointed out that Star Wars aficionados would recognize this as the incorrect color choice for a heroic character.
“Well, first of all, I thought: If he’s a Star Wars fan, he should know he should be holding a green lightsaber,” Hamill said. “Not an evil red lightsaber!”
Hamill's Approach Mockery as Kryptonite
He then shared his strategy for criticizing the current administration, explaining it stems from humor, as he is mindful of his young fanbase and wishes to avoid harsh language.
“I don’t get angry and I don’t drop F-bombs,” he stated. “I mean, I know I have a lot of kids that follow me, but I think to have fun with it, mock him–that’s the kryptonite to malignant narcissists.”
