Pamela Anderson Says AI Filters Make People Boring
Hollywood star Pamela Anderson is making waves with her recent comments on beauty standards, AI, and the impact of photo filters. She believes these modern tools are stripping away individuality, leading to a "boring-looking" populace.
Challenging Conventional Beauty
Anderson, known for her candidness, shared her perspective in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. "I think that with AI technology and filters, people are becoming kind of boring-looking," she stated. This sentiment fuels her desire to push back against established norms. "I want to challenge beauty norms. I’ve always been a rebel."
Embracing this rebellious spirit, Anderson finds liberation in appearing on red carpets without makeup. "It’s freedom to know you can walk on a red carpet without a stitch of make-up on," she explained, adding, "I mean, why can’t I? Men do it all the time."
A New Chapter On Screen
Currently experiencing a career resurgence, Anderson is set to star in The Naked Gun reboot alongside Liam Neeson, which is anticipated this summer. She views this role as an opportunity to showcase a new dimension of her talent. "It’s going to show a different side of me," she said.
Anderson also reflected on the therapeutic nature of her recent film projects. "I feel every film I do lately is healing various parts of me," she shared. "And you need a big, messy life to draw from if you want to make these kinds of things interesting."
Embracing Authenticity and Creativity
Her current focus extends to living a life true to herself. "I love being in a creative space. That’s my happy place," Anderson revealed, citing her passion for poetry, film, and music. "I feel like I’m just trying to live this part of my life as authentically as possible."
This journey of authenticity involves a period of self-discovery. "I don’t know what my next incarnation will be, but right now, I want to peel it back. Clean up a little bit and just see: who am I?"
Reflecting on a Storied Career
Anderson's journey to fame began as a Playboy model before she became a household name playing lifeguard CJ Parker in Baywatch during the 1990s. She shares two sons with her ex-husband, musician Tommy Lee.
Her private life was revisited in 2022 with the television series Pam and Tommy, which dramatized her relationship with Lee. Despite this, Anderson has continued to make significant strides in her career. She made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago in 2022 and received Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award nominations for her performance in the 2023 film The Last Showgirl.
A Second Chance Her Way
Featured on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar's July/August issue, Anderson spoke about this new phase of her life and career. "I feel like because I’ve been given this second chance – not everybody gets one – I get to do it my way," she concluded.
