Country music superstar Lainey Wilson and her fiancé, former NFL quarterback Devlin "Duck" Hodges, have found themselves at the center of a very modern-day rumor mill. While their engagement in February captured the hearts of fans, recent speculation suggested the couple had already secretly tied the knot. As it turns out, the source of these whispers appears to be artificial intelligence.

The AI-Fueled Wedding Rumors

Fans of the beloved couple began seeing images circulating on social media that depicted Wilson and Hodges in what looked like wedding attire. The problem? The photos weren't real. According to reports from Country Living, AI-generated images were the primary driver behind the rumors, creating a false narrative that the pair had already said their "I dos." This incident highlights a growing trend of AI being used to create convincing but ultimately fake content about public figures.

The Couple Sets the Record Straight

In response to the mounting speculation, Wilson and Hodges took to TikTok to address the rumors head-on with a dose of humor. In a video posted to Hodges' account over the weekend, Wilson can be heard off-camera asking, "What are you going to tell AI?"

Hodges, speaking directly to the camera, playfully admonished the creators of the fake photos. "If you going to put out stuff about us, at least make us look good," he said as Wilson laughed in the background. "We look like (expletive)."

He made the situation crystal clear in the video's caption, writing, “Attention to those making AI photos of me and Lainey … Sincerely, The couple who hasn’t had a wedding yet.” This direct and lighthearted denial effectively put the rumors to rest, confirming that while a wedding is in their future, it hasn't happened yet.

A Country-Meets-Football Love Story

The public has been closely following the couple's journey since they reportedly began dating in 2021. Their relationship reached a new milestone on February 12, when Hodges proposed to Wilson on the historic estate of country legend George Jones. The romantic engagement was a major headline, and fans have been eagerly awaiting news of their wedding plans ever since.

Wilson's career has skyrocketed in recent years, establishing her as one of the most prominent and celebrated artists in country music today.

A Look at Their Careers

While Wilson dominates the music charts, Hodges is known for his time in the world of professional football. After a standout college career at Samford, he went undrafted in 2019 but was signed as a free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Steelers through the 2020 season, even starting several games. He later had a brief stint with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 before playing for the Ottawa Redblacks in the Canadian Football League that same year, after which he retired from the sport. He concluded his NFL career with 1,063 passing yards, five touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
