The AI-Generated Wedding That Wasn't

In an age of digital deception, country music sensation Lainey Wilson and her fiancé, former NFL quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges, have become the latest public figures to combat online misinformation. The couple has been forced to set the record straight after AI-generated images, falsely depicting their wedding, began circulating across social media and sparking widespread rumors.

Fans were sent into a frenzy by the realistic-looking photos, leading many to believe the beloved couple had secretly tied the knot. However, the truth is that while Wilson and Hodges are happily engaged since February, they have not yet walked down the aisle.

The Couple Sets the Record Straight

Taking to social media to address the confusion head-on, the couple shared a video on Hodges’ TikTok account to debunk the rumors with a dose of humor. In the clip, Wilson playfully asks her fiancé, “What are you gonna tell AI?” Hodges, clearly unimpressed with the quality of the fake images, fires back, “If you’re gonna put out stuff about us, at least make us look good. I mean, we look like s***.”

The post was humorously captioned to leave no room for doubt: “Attention to those making AI photos of me and Lainey... Sincerely, The couple who hasn’t had a wedding yet.”

No Rush to Walk Down the Aisle

For fans eagerly awaiting the real wedding, it seems patience will be key. In an interview from May, Wilson confirmed that they are in no hurry to plan their nuptials. She revealed to Country Living that she plans to make Hodges wait a bit longer.

“I told I’m gonna make him wait,” she explained. “He made me wait for 4 years. I’m gonna make him wait before we start planning this thing.”

Wilson emphasized that they are focused on doing things their own way and on their own schedule. “We’re taking our time and it’s gonna be right and it’s gonna be beautiful and, you know, what it’s supposed to be about.”
