Eufy Unveils New AI Cameras With Color Night Vision
Introducing Eufy's New AI-Powered Security Cameras
Eufy is expanding its security device lineup with the introduction of two new artificial intelligence (AI) powered home security cameras. The brand just announced the new EufyCam E40 and SoloCam E42, both designed to bolster its range of subscription-free, local storage security solutions.
EufyCam E40: Vivid Color, Even in the Dark
The EufyCam E40 stands out with its new MaxColor Vision technology. This feature uses AI to provide full-color night vision, dramatically enhancing video quality in ultra-low-light environments, all captured in sharp 2K resolution. After testing similar cameras, it's clear that you can't go back to grainy night vision once you experience this level of clarity.
This enhanced color night vision isn't just for show; it provides superior clarity that significantly improves the accuracy of human detection. The result is fewer false alarms from things like pets or swaying branches. To help you avoid monthly cloud storage fees, the EufyCam E40 is fully compatible with the HomeBase S380 and the earlier HomeBase 2 for secure local storage, a key feature for anyone who prefers a security camera with no subscription fees.
Power and Connectivity: A Closer Look at the E40
Eufy has designed the E40 as its first battery-powered security camera equipped with dual USB-C ports. This unique setup allows you to connect both a LongRange Module and a solar panel at the same time. The LongRange Module is a great addition for those with large properties, boosting high-speed video transmission up to 1,000 meters.
While it's a battery-powered camera suitable for indoor or outdoor use, the EufyCam E40 also features a built-in 0.75W solar panel on top. With enough direct sunlight, this panel can keep the camera powered almost year-round, eliminating the hassle of taking it down to recharge.
SoloCam E42: 4K Pan-Tilt Coverage
For those needing to cover wide areas, Eufy also announced the SoloCam E42. This camera steps up the resolution to 4K and includes a built-in spotlight and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) functions, giving it a complete 360-degree horizontal view.
It comes with a removable solar panel for continuous power. This design is particularly clever, as you can position the camera for the best coverage angle and place the solar panel separately where it will get the most sunlight. To actively deter intruders, the SoloCam E42 is also armed with bright red and blue strobe lights and a loud 105 dB siren.
Pricing and How to Buy
The EufyCam E40 is available now. You can get a two-camera bundle with the HomeBase 2 for $280 or a bundle with the advanced HomeBase S380 for $380.
The SoloCam E42 will launch on August 5th. It will be available in a two-camera bundle that includes the HomeBase S380 for $399.
