A lawsuit has been filed against the Las Virgenes Unified School District, bringing to light serious allegations of sustained harassment and the distribution of explicit images at Calabasas High School. The family bringing the suit claims the district failed to protect their daughter from a months-long bullying campaign.

District Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Inaction

The legal action stems from the family's assertion that the school district did not respond appropriately to their repeated reports of bullying and harassment. This alleged inaction spanned a period of seven months, allowing the situation to escalate with devastating consequences for the student victim.

A Mother's Plea and a Victim's Voice

The victim's mother released a powerful statement criticizing the school's handling of the events. "For months, my daughter was silenced while the district turned a blind eye," she said. "This lawsuit isn't just about justice... it's about protecting every student who's ever been dismissed, ignored, or retraumatized."

The incident, which took place almost two years ago, left the young victim feeling terrified and violated. In a harrowing account she previously shared with Eyewitness News, the teen explained, "I never thought that if I left the door cracked a little open because my shower gets too steamy that pictures of me would end up all over my school. It was terrifying."

Details of Harassment and AI-Generated Images

The allegations are particularly disturbing due to the methods used. The victim stated a female classmate secretly filmed her in the shower. Furthermore, the accused student allegedly used artificial intelligence to create fake images by placing the victim's face onto other people's bodies. Some of these manipulated and real images were reportedly circulated at school and even uploaded to a pornographic website.

Wider Allegations of Bullying Emerge

The issue may involve a pattern of behavior. Last year, another mother reported that her daughter, also a student at Calabasas High, was bullied by the same girl after she spoke out against the photos. This suggests a climate of intimidation targeting those who challenged the harassment.

ABC7 has reached out to the Las Virgenes Unified School District for a statement regarding the new lawsuit but has not yet received a response.
