AI Image Scandal Rocks Hong Kong University
University Takes Action Against Student
A male law student at Hong Kong's most prestigious university is facing disciplinary action after being accused of using artificial intelligence to create pornographic images of his classmates and other women. The institution has formally addressed the allegations by issuing a warning letter to the student involved.
Official Response and Support Measures
In a statement released on Saturday, The University of Hong Kong confirmed its awareness of the situation. Officials stated that in addition to the warning, the student has been required to write a formal apology to the individuals affected by his actions. The university emphasized its commitment to the well-being of the victims, noting that it has maintained open communication with them. "The university has taken various steps, including class adjustments, to address their needs," the statement read. It also mentioned that the case would be subject to further review to ensure a "safe and respectful learning environment" for all.
Victims Speak Out Demanding More
However, the university's response has been met with criticism from those affected. Just hours before the university's official statement, three individuals claiming to be victims posted on social media about the incident. In their posts, they referred to the accused student as "X" and argued that the institution's measures were insufficient. They expressed deep dissatisfaction, alleging that the university had not done enough to hold the student properly accountable for his actions.
