Kate Middleton has unveiled a regal new hairstyle.
The Princess of Wales debuted her lightest hair color yet while on a family trip with Prince William and their three children—Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.
A Royal Family Outing in Scotland

The 43-year-old showcased her noticeably lighter blonde locks while the family was on their way to a church service at Crathie Kirk, near the Balmoral royal residence in Scotland. The outing on August 24 was part of the family’s annual Scottish summer getaway. She paired her new 'do with a dark berry-colored coat and a matching hat.
Other members of the royal family also joined the occasion, including King Charles III and Queen Camilla, Princess Anne and her husband Sir Timothy Laurence, and Prince Edward and his wife Duchess Sophie.
While Kate has gone even blonder than the honey-blonde style she debuted last month, she isn’t the only royal experimenting with her hair. Her sister, Pippa Middleton, also recently showcased a new look during a rare appearance at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix.
The 41-year-old traded her dark brown, long bob for a blunter, shorter style with lighter brown highlights. She shares children Arthur, 6, Grace, 4, and Rose, 3, with her husband James Matthews.
Even Princess Anne recently updated her hair for the first time in five decades ahead of her 75th birthday. In a royal portrait released on August 8, she swapped her signature bouffant for an elegant chignon. Anne has famously sported her bouffant for 50 years because it’s quick and easy. In the 2020 documentary Princess Royal: Anne at 70, she recalled reading about the actress from Netflix's The Crown, Erin Doherty, and how long it took stylists to replicate the look. "And I’m thinking, ‘How could you possibly take that long?’" Anne said. "I mean, it takes me 10 or 15 minutes.”
