On Tuesday, Adobe announced that the Photoshop app is rolling out on the Google Play Store, making it available for many popular Android smartphones. The Android app, currently in beta, is offered completely free. The only system requirement is a device running Android 11 or a newer version, with at least 6GB of RAM, although 8GB is recommended for the best performance.

This mobile application is tailored for users who prefer the convenience of working on their phones or need to edit and design while on the move. The app features an intuitive, mobile-friendly interface, which also makes it more approachable for those new to Photoshop, as the comprehensive desktop version can often seem overwhelming at first.

During this beta period, Android users can enjoy complimentary access to all the app's features. This includes capabilities like combining, compositing, and blending images using selections, layers, and masks. Essential tools such as the spot-healing brush, the remove tool, and the clone stamp are also available, alongside access to thousands of free Adobe Stock assets to enhance your projects.

AI Powered Editing at Your Fingertips

Some of Adobe's most acclaimed generative AI-powered Photoshop features are also part of the mobile experience. This includes the widely popular Generative Fill and Generative Expand tools.
