Canva Integrates Full Design Suite Into ChatGPT
In a significant move to merge conversational AI with visual creativity, Canva has unveiled a new integration that allows users to generate, edit, and even translate designs directly within the ChatGPT interface.
A Seamless AI-Powered Workflow
Following OpenAI's recent announcement of its in-chat apps and new Apps SDK, Canva has launched a powerful feature that streamlines the creative process. Users can now produce a wide range of visual content—from presentations and social media posts to marketing assets—simply by issuing text prompts to ChatGPT. The platform then generates the visuals instantly, blending the power of conversational AI with real-time design.
This new app builds upon Canva's earlier deep research connector, which let users find and summarize their existing Canva content within the chat environment, but now takes the interaction to a new level of active creation.
Advanced Editing and Translation Features
The integration introduces full-screen previews and context-aware design capabilities. Users can instruct ChatGPT to refine or alter content, with changes applied instantly across all slides and templates. This functionality is designed to eliminate repetitive design tasks. For instance, Canva explained how a user could give a command like, "remove all the jargon from this deck" or "make this presentation more conversational," and watch as 50 slides update simultaneously while the core design and formatting remain perfectly intact.
Furthermore, powerful translation capabilities are built-in, allowing users to localize designs into languages like Spanish or Japanese directly within the same workflow, simplifying global content adaptation.
A Major Partnership for Creative AI
Canva executives celebrated the new collaboration on social media. Anwar Haneef, General Manager and Head of Ecosystem at Canva, posted on LinkedIn: “Super excited to share this one—you can now create and edit Canva designs directly in ChatGPT! ... Whether you’re making a quick post, a deck, or a flyer—just ask ChatGPT to make it in Canva and you’ll see it come to life instantly.”

The Canva app in ChatGPT is now available for Free, Plus, and Pro users located outside the EU. It joins an initial group of app partners for OpenAI that includes Coursera, Booking.com, and Spotify.
