Introducing Project Indigo A New iPhone Camera App

Adobe has unveiled Project Indigo a new computational photography camera app for iPhones. Significantly one of its creators is Marc Levoy known for his influential work on the computational photography features that distinguished some of Google’s earlier Pixel cameras.

Availability And Access

Released by Adobe Labs last week Project Indigo is a free app. It is compatible with iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max and all iPhone 14 models and newer versions. Adobe suggests using an iPhone 15 Pro or a more recent model for the best experience. Accessing the app does not require an Adobe account login. You can download Project Indigo from the App Store.

How Indigo Enhances Your Photos

According to the app's description "Instead of capturing a single photo Indigo captures a burst of photos and combines them together to produce a high quality photo with lower noise and higher dynamic range". The app aims for a natural SLR-like appearance in its photos and provides users with manual controls for focus shutter speed ISO and white balance.

They hope Project Indigo will attract casual mobile photographers seeking natural SLR-like photos advanced photographers desiring manual control and high image quality and anyone interested in exploring new photographic possibilities.
