LG Unveils Next Generation webOS Hub 3 0 for Third Party TVs

SEOUL, June 13, 2025 — LG Electronics has officially announced the launch of webOS Hub 3.0, the newest iteration of its popular TV platform designed for third party television manufacturers. This updated version integrates advanced artificial intelligence technologies and novel features, aiming to establish a new benchmark within the TV platform sector. Initially, webOS Hub 3.0 will be accessible on UHD TVs featuring 60Hz displays. Support will expand in July to include 120Hz UHD TVs equipped with mini LED technology, thereby widening its reach to a broader audience.

AI Powered Enhancements for a Smarter Viewing Experience

webOS Hub 3.0 introduces several key upgrades driven by artificial intelligence. These include Voice Recommendation, supported by ThinQ AI, AI Picture featuring Neural Network Super Resolution, and AI Sound designed to minimize noise and improve voice clarity. Together, these smart functionalities significantly enhance the overall television viewing experience.

Advanced Technology and Feature Upgrades

The newest platform version also incorporates advanced System on Chip (SoC) technology, leading to distinct performance gains compared to webOS Hub 2.0. Further improvements encompass AI driven picture quality, support for mini LED local dimming on 120Hz models, Multiview capabilities such as Side by Side and Picture in Picture modes, an Always On Display feature, and compatibility with Wi Fi 6 and Auracast Bluetooth audio.

Regarding content, webOS Hub 3.0 offers entry to a wide selection of OTT services and LG Channels, which is LG’s complimentary ad supported streaming TV (FAST) service. LG Channels currently provides 4,000 channels in 33 markets around the world, making free, ad supported content available to a growing global viewership.

Optimized Gaming and Smart Home Integration

Gamers can look forward to an enhanced experience with features such as the Game Dashboard, Game Optimizer, and the new Gaming Portal. The Gaming Portal offers a straightforward interface for discovering and playing games without requiring external consoles or devices. Users can explore a curated selection of apps, including cloud gaming services, webOS app games playable with the remote, recently played games, top trending titles, editor’s choices, and other personalized gaming selections. Additionally, the platform integrates the Home Hub IoT solution, facilitating the creation of customized user environments.
