Star-Studded Cast Grows for 'Artificial'

The ensemble for the highly anticipated film Artificial from Amazon MGM Studios continues to expand with its latest addition, Billie Lourd. The film, set to be directed by the acclaimed Luca Guadagnino, is shaping up to have one of the most exciting casts in recent memory.

Lourd joins a roster that already includes Andrew Garfield, Yura Borisov, Monica Barbaro, Jason Schwartzman, Cooper Koch, Cooper Hoffman, and Ike Barinholtz.

What We Know About the AI-Themed Film

While official plot details for Artificial are being kept under wraps, the project is described as a comedic drama exploring the world of artificial intelligence. Unconfirmed reports from sources close to the production suggest the film may center on the tumultuous events at OpenAI in 2023, which saw CEO Sam Altman famously fired and then swiftly rehired within days. The specifics of the character Billie Lourd will portray remain unknown.

The Creative Team Behind the Scenes

The script for the film was penned by Simon Rich, who is also serving as a producer. Rich is joined on the production team by David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford of Heyday Films, alongside Jennifer Fox, creating a formidable group to bring this timely story to the screen.

Billie Lourd has consistently demonstrated her versatility across film and television. She recently appeared in Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl and lent her voice to the animated Smurfs movie. She is well-known to television audiences for her recurring roles in Ryan Murphy’s universe, including American Horror Story: NYC, Double Feature, 1984, Apocalypse, and Cult, as well as the Fox series Scream Queens.

Her film career began with a role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and she reprised her character, Lieutenant Connix, in both Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
