Chaos Expands AI Toolkit for Architects and Designers
Visualization powerhouse Chaos is significantly expanding its suite of AI-powered tools, aiming to streamline creative workflows for architects, designers, and visualization artists. The latest wave of innovation is headlined by a major update to its Veras software, alongside previews of several new and enhanced AI features for its popular V-Ray and Enscape products.
From Static to Dynamic Veras 3.0 Introduces Image to Video
The flagship announcement is Veras 3.0, which now includes a groundbreaking image-to-video generation capability. This new feature allows AEC professionals to transform static renderings into dynamic animations using simple text prompts. Building on its established ability to generate design ideas and style variations from 3D models and 2D images, Veras now empowers users to animate scenes with just a few clicks. Designers can introduce camera pans and zooms, simulate changing weather conditions, and adjust the time of day. Furthermore, the software can add motion to the scene by incorporating animated vehicles and digital people, effectively turning still images into immersive, moving stories.
Veras, originally developed by EvolveLabs (acquired by Chaos in 2024), was one of the first AI visualization tools designed specifically for the AEC industry, featuring native integrations with Revit, Rhino, and SketchUp.
A Suite of New AI Creative Companions
Beyond the Veras update, Chaos has also previewed three entirely new AI-powered tools:
- AI Mood Match: This tool automates the process of matching complex lighting and environmental settings to a reference image. It eliminates the need for tedious manual adjustments to skies and sun positions, saving valuable time.
- AI Upscaler: Leveraging AI, this feature can enlarge render outputs by up to four times their original size while carefully preserving photorealistic quality and detail.
- Cylindo Quickshot: Purpose-built for the furniture industry, this tool enables marketing teams to convert standard product photos into high-quality, photorealistic lifestyle scenes. It maintains detail and scale accuracy while offering control over lighting, props, and backgrounds, overcoming common AI issues like distortion and off-brand results.
Enhancing Existing AI Favorites
Chaos is also rolling out significant improvements to some of its existing AI tools:
- AI Enhancer: First introduced in Enscape, this feature automatically elevates flat renders of people and vegetation into photorealistic elements. It is now available in Corona and V-Ray 7 for 3ds Max, with support for more V-Ray integrations on the way.
- AI Material Generator: Currently available for V-Ray for 3ds Max, this tool will soon expand to other Chaos products. It transforms real-world photos into reusable, physically-based materials that can be saved directly into the Chaos Cosmos library.
Archviz artist and co-founder of archvizartist.com, Agnieszka Klich, praised these updates, stating, “The AI Enhancer saves me time by refining images instantly, reducing the need for extra post-production… Both tools make the process faster and more creative, which is exactly what I value in Corona.“
Newly appointed Chaos CEO, Iveta Cabajova, emphasized the company's direction: “As AI continues to transform the AEC industry, Chaos is paving the way with responsible AI tools designed to serve as creative companions for architects, designers, and visualization artists while ensuring that they retain control and ownership of their work.”
