In an era where digital imagery is increasingly susceptible to manipulation, Copyleaks, a prominent company in AI-powered content authenticity, has announced the launch of its AI Image Detection tool. This new enterprise-level solution is designed to verify the authenticity of visual content by identifying images that have been created or altered by artificial intelligence.

A New Standard in Authenticity

What sets the Copyleaks AI Image Detection tool apart is its precision. Instead of providing a simple probability score, the solution visually pinpoints the exact regions within an image that have been manipulated. It is the first tool of its kind capable of detecting both fully synthetic images and "blended" imagery, where AI is used to modify existing real-world photographs. This capability offers a new level of transparency, moving beyond existing tools and establishing a higher standard for content integrity. This launch expands the company's established expertise in AI text detection into the visual domain.

Alon Yamin, the co-founder and CEO of Copyleaks, highlighted the urgency of this technology. "Images are now at the center of digital deception," he stated. "As generative AI continues to evolve, organizations need technology they can trust to discern what’s real and what’s been artificially generated. Copyleaks AI Image Detection delivers that visibility."

The Rising Tide of Digital Deception

The release of this tool is timely, as AI-manipulated visuals and deepfakes are fueling a significant increase in global fraud and misinformation. According to Deloitte, fraud losses linked to generative AI are expected to climb to $40 billion in the U.S. by 2027. Furthermore, deepfake-related fraud attacks have surged by an alarming 2,137% between 2022 and 2025. Industries where visual trust is critical—such as media, finance, insurance, and public institutions—can now leverage this technology to authenticate images and prevent the spread of manipulated content.

A Crisis of Trust in Visual Content

To better understand the public's perception of AI-generated content, Copyleaks conducted a survey of nearly 4,000 consumers. The findings reveal a widespread crisis of trust in what people see online and emphasize the need for reliable detection tools.

Key findings from the survey include:

  • Pervasive AI Imagery: A significant 61% of respondents report frequently seeing manipulated images online, with another 33% encountering them occasionally.
  • Widespread Deception: 82% of participants admitted to having mistaken an AI-generated image for a real one at least once, and 51% believe they see fake visuals on a daily basis.
  • Eroding Confidence: Due to AI-generated content, 82% of people said their confidence in media and other institutions has diminished, while 84% support the use of clear labels or watermarks on synthetic images.

Looking Ahead

Shouvik Paul, Chief Operating Officer of Copyleaks, affirmed the company's commitment to addressing this market need. "Enterprises have been asking for a reliable, transparent and scalable solution for AI image integrity – and that’s exactly what we’re delivering," he said. "With image detection now available, and audio and video detection coming soon, we’re equipping organizations with the full suite of tools needed to navigate the AI era responsibly."

The Copyleaks AI Image Detection solution is currently available and can be integrated into existing workflows via an API.
